Mies On 'iv: american electric guitars', Giacomo Fiore interprets four contemporary classical pieces. Although he is not adverse to playing edgy guitar as he shows on "until it blazes", his work here is remarkably thoughtful, carefully controlled to let the compositions unfold in their own time. This is admirable but demands in return a similar level of concentration from the listener, especially on tracks such as "another possibility". A very good and daring album, but not one for casual listening. Favorite track: anthony porter: hair of the thing that bit you.
