Branching Streams Flow in the Dark by Nat Evans is a meditation on the universal nature of chant in the human experience. The rhythm of the guitars is taken from the Sandokai, a text chanted regularly in Zen Buddhist temples. This slow, circular rhythm is paired with field recordings of cattle auctioneers at work, which slowly blends into a wall of reverb, their voices sonorous with the guitars ringing out with the essence of humans chanting together over the eons.
